Thanks to a TIF-funded city facade grant program that serves to help private property owners improve their facades in the downtown district, progress was made on the Marble Block facade. Using donated funds from the 2014 Biddeford Ball and its own funds, Engine applied for and was approved for a $15,000 1:1 cash match. Given the timeline of the project, only $6,000 of facade grant funds were ultimate used in the project for architectural renderings of the building’s facade. The renderings are required to receive Part I and II approvals from the Department of the Interior to qualify as a historic tax credit project. Here are the approved drawings that were approved.
