An Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) has been prepared. MBRC is currently receiving public comments on this document, and the public comment period will run 30 days, ending on Thursday, March 5, 2020. The information repository on this project, including the ABCA, prior environmental assessments, and other environmental information can be viewed on the MBRC website (www.themarbleblock.org/documents) or at the Ransom Consulting, LLC offices at 400 Commercial Street, Suite 404, Portland, Maine during business hours.
The Marble Block Redevelopment Corp. (MBRC) will hold a public meeting to discuss the United States Environmental Protection Agency-funded Brownfields Cleanup Project at the Former WestPoint Stevens Mill Boiler House in Biddeford, Maine. This project will focus of the abatement of hazardous building materials, including asbestos, lead-based paint, and universal wastes. The public meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at 6:00 PM on the 3rd Floor of Building 17 (North Dam Mill) on the Pepperell Mill Campus located at 2 Main Street in Biddeford, Maine. During this public meeting, project representatives will discuss the funding mechanisms, project requirements, and recommended cleanup strategies for the site.
